Prif thema fy ngwaith yw’r diwylliant Cymreig yn ei holl agweddau ac mae’r ffaith i mi gael fy magu mewn pentref Cymraeg ei iaith sef “Llanuwchllyn” wedi dylanwadu’n gryf arnaf. LLANUWCHLLYN yw teitl yr arddangosfa. Ar yr olwg gyntaf mae’r teitl yn ymddangos yn benodol iawn ond mae’n ymdrin â materion mwy cyffredinol megis brogarwch, hiraeth, alltudiaeth, atgofion, ac ymateb i farddoniaeth.
Mae natur gysyniadol i y fy nelweddau ac fe gawsant eu creu gyda chymorth cyfrifiadur ac mae natur amhersonol y gwaith sy’n ymwrthod a thechneg ac arddull yn gwbwl fwriadol er mwyn galluogi’r gwyliwr i werthfawrogi’n uniongyrchol y syniad tu ôl i’r ddelwedd.
The main theme of my work is Welsh culture in all its aspects and the fact that I was brought up in a Welsh speaking village “Llanuwchllyn” has had a strong influence on me. LLANUWCHLLYN is the title of the exhibition. At first the title might seem rather specific but it deals with maters such as affection for locality, longing, being exile, memories, and responses to poetry.
There is a conceptual nature to my images and they were created with the aid of a computer. The impersonal nature of the work that rejects technique and style is completely intentional to enable the observer to appreciate directly the idea behind the image.
