Mae Cymreictod yn golygu rhywbeth gwahanol i bawb, ond i Gareth Owen Cymreictod yw'r iaith Gymraeg, yr eisteddfod, barddoniaeth, gwleidyddiaeth heddychol a diwylliannol gyda chysgod y capel dros y cyfan. Ei obaith yw fod y delweddau yn trosglwyddo'r teimlad o obaith ac adeni. Ni ddaw cyfnod y "Pethe" fyth yn ol ar yr un ffurf, ond mae gan ddyn rhyw allu arbennig i ailddarganfod ei hun.
Welshness means different things to different people,but to Gareth Owen it's the Welsh language, the eisteddfod, poetry,the politics of peace and culture, with the shadow of the chapel (Cysgod y Capel) over it all. He hopes that the images convey a sense of hope and re-birth. The "Pethe" period will never return in the same form, but man has a special ability to re-discover himself.
